Gift ideas, by person

The one who has everything

Defined by speed rather than by taste: they own it before you thought of it. So buy the thing nobody thinks of.

The person who has everything is not difficult because they are fussy. They are difficult because they are fast: whatever you thought of, they thought of it in March and it arrived on the Tuesday.

So the category to aim at is the one nobody buys for themselves, which is almost always organisation. Somebody who owns a great deal owns a drawer that has lost its argument, and a storage box that is actually the right size is the rare gift that changes a room rather than adding to it.

The same logic runs across a desk. The surface is full because the things on it have nowhere else to be, and an organiser is the sort of purchase that feels too boring to make and too obvious once made.

The other reliable seam is maintenance. A tool for the specific annoyance they mention every few months and never act on. A cable that finally matches the thing they keep borrowing one for.

Below, mostly small and mostly dull. Dull is the point: they already own the exciting things.
