Victoria Lu

It is the fascinating story of China's first female curator and art critic. Victoria Lu (b. 1951) was China's first female curator and contemporary art critic. This autobiography, an account of her 30+ years in the Asian art world, recounts her early days in late-1970s Los Angeles, her years in Taiwan in the early 1990s when the art scene there was just beginning to bloom, and her subsequent work animating China's art culture - characterised by her relentless energy and enthusiasm. The book is divided into two sections: the first contains Lu's autobiographical account, and the second presents her more speculative ideas about the present and future of Asian art, and Lu's own vision as a curator.
