The Way South

The Way South By M. Wilder When Emma leaves behind the city’s noise, she isn’t running — she’s unravelling. Alone in a half-finished van, with nothing but a secondhand surfboard and the ghost of a memory, she turns south along Australia’s coast in search of something real. Something free. She’s not expecting Noah. Golden-skinned, quietly grounded, and driving a van that’s seen more freedom than most people ever will — Noah is everything Emma didn’t plan for. And everything she’s afraid to want. What starts as slow-burn banter and shared campfires unravels into moonlit touches, deep-water confessions, and the kind of intimacy that doesn’t come with a map. Told in raw, poetic snapshots from the front seat of van life, The Way South is more than a love story — it’s a reckoning. With past relationships. With the version of yourself you had to abandon to fit in. And with the electric, terrifying freedom of choosing what comes next. For fans of coastal romance, van life fiction, and emotionally rich slow-burns with sensual heat and a beating heart. Not all wild places are on maps.
