Dark Knight of Connecticut: Year 2012 - Welcome to Bartlett Bay

The Bartletts are a wealthy, rich and distant family who have no interest in Ethan Bartlett whatsoever until the last two male members of his family are murdered and he is forcibly drawn across the country to take their place in the city his ancestors built. Bartlett Bay, Connecticut: a nice but poor fishing town located on the Long Island Sound and of no particular note to those passing by on Interstate 95 or flying over on a commercial airline, but under that veneer, beyond the smiles and casual banter of the locals, there are secrets and very few of them are kind. A city of lies and blood. Ethan, a young but trained monster hunter and magician, finds himself pitted against witches, murderers, cannibals, hags, rival hunters, evil magicians and more as he protects the locals, rescues children and uncovers secret after secret, each one worse than the one before, most seeming to emanate from the Engelstad in the center, a grouping of trees a few miles in diameter on the outside and maybe a hundred or more on the inside. It is in this town and this forest where Ethan finds that the biggest secrets of all may well be his own, secrets of a past he did not know he had, that pull him back in time to his past lives, back to Tudor England and the American Civil War, where he met with the great men and women of the times and helped carve out history itself. And where some of the answers to some of the darker secrets of Bartlett Bay may yet lie.
