The Community of Europe - Past, Present and Future

“This book is the first to seize clearly upon the nature of this new dynamic, and to present it simply and forcefully in the context or rapidly moving events.” —From the Introduction by Jean Monnet This study of European Common Market Community is a clear, readable account of how the market works, what its roots are, what its part is in the movement toward European unity, and what its effect will be on the United States. The Community of Europe has been written from the inside by an acknowledged expert, a Cambridge historian who has been an official of the European Economic Community for six years. It has particular relevance for college courses in contemporary European history, comparative economic systems, economic history, and international relations.
