Diiv - Oshin (CD)

This music cassette edition of Oshin presents DIIV’s debut in a warm, analog-focused format that suits the album’s hazy atmosphere. The shell typically features minimalist artwork echoing the oceanic, washed-out visual aesthetic associated with the record, with the track list printed clearly on the inlay card for easy reference.Musically, Oshin is rooted in an indie rock and dream pop sound, infused with elements of shoegaze and post-punk. Reverb-drenched guitars, driving bass lines, and distant vocals create an immersive, hypnotic mood across the tape. Standout tracks such as Doused, Past Lives, and Sometime showcase the band’s shimmering melodies and rhythmic pulse, making the cassette a fitting medium for the album’s swirling, immersive textures. Originally released in 2012, this cassette captures the early-2010s underground guitar scene in a tactile, collectible form.
