Spanish Gardens

"Spanish Gardens" is a comprehensive and visually evocative exploration of the unique horticultural traditions of the Iberian Peninsula. Written by the renowned garden historian C.M. Villiers-Stuart, this work delves into the intricate relationship between Spanish landscape design and its diverse cultural influences, most notably the profound impact of Moorish aesthetics and irrigation techniques. The text guides readers through the lush courtyards of the Alhambra, the Generalife, and the Alcázar of Seville, while also examining the monastic and patio gardens that define the Spanish domestic landscape.
