Mystery of the Lord's Supper

Robert Bruce's famous sermons were first delivered in 1589. Behind them lies a powerful conception of the Person and Saving Work of Christ. Bruce has left us a legacy, which, in the words of the editor of the 1614 edition, is 'worthy to be written in letters of gold'. Robert Bruce preached these sermons on the sacrament in 1589 at Giles Cathedral where he was a successor to John Knox. He gives us a powerful conception through the Lord's supper of the saving work of Jesus Christ. This modern edition has been translated and edited by T. F. Torrance.
