Drinking Tea and Herding Spiders

A witty and functional handbook exploring the practicalities (both magical and mundane) of organising a community of witches A witty and functional handbook exploring the practicalities (both magical and mundane) of organising a community of witches With over three decades of experience working with magic and witches, Sian Sibley now distils her wisdom into a poignant and practical manual laying out exactly how to successfully start, manage, and run one’s own coven. Drinking Tea and Herding Spiders begins with the practical foundations of leading a coven, exploring important themes such as finding members; helping new members settle in; vital information on safeguarding; how to structure coven meetings; sample curriculums; and much more! Sian continues by sharing an essential syllabus for witches, including sessions on ritual, the wheel of the year, astrology, working with the moon, spellworking, divination, working with the earth, and more. These are essential lessons for witches new to the craft, but Sian’s writing and experience is full of unique and intriguing anecdotes, so even more experienced practitioners will be sure to find nuggets of wisdom that will help hone and develop their skills and techniques. Within each chapter, Sian also provides functional ways that this magical education can be explored further, and actioned during in-person coven meetings. These include worksheets, as well as ideas for crafts, rituals, circles, and spells. In the modern world where community is often a scarce commodity, Herding Spiders and Drinking Tea presents a brilliant new paradigm that will encourage readers to seek, make, and nurture enduring bonds of magic and fellowship.
