Asum

Asum: The Evesham Saga Every town has a history. Few remember the people who lived it. For nearly two thousand years, the ancient market town of Evesham has stood beside the gentle waters of the River Avon, witnessing the rise and fall of kingdoms, the clash of armies, the triumph of faith and the quiet determination of ordinary lives. Asum is an epic multi-generational historical saga that follows generations of families whose stories become inseparable from the town they call home. From the Roman occupation of Britain and the founding of the great abbey to the Norman Conquest, the Wars of the Roses, the English Civil War, the Industrial Revolution and the challenges of the modern age, each generation inherits not only the hopes of those who came before, but also the burdens of history itself. Farmers, craftsmen, monks, merchants, soldiers and families from every walk of life witness the changing fortunes of England while building lives rooted in the fertile Vale of Evesham. Love and loss, ambition and sacrifice, prosperity and hardship become threads in a tapestry stretching across centuries, reminding us that history is shaped not only by kings and queens, but by ordinary people whose courage is seldom recorded. Richly researched and vividly imagined, Asum blends historical fact with compelling fictional lives to create an unforgettable portrait of one English town and the generations who gave it its character. It is a story of family, belonging and the enduring connection between people and the place they call home.
