The Nordic Protocols 3 - Scandinavian Target

A discovery in the depths of the North Sea. A web of corruption and environmental destruction. A countdown that seems impossible to stop. When biologist Amelia Wiedner encounters anomalous readings in the Canadian Rockies, she has no idea she's stumbled upon the beginning of a global crisis. The data leads to NordGreen Energy, whose revolutionary CO₂ storage technology beneath the North Sea is being celebrated as a breakthrough in the fight against climate change. But what she discovers under her microscope—a strain of bacteria with terrifying properties—tells a different story. Her husband, investigative journalist Erik Wiedner, receives a cryptic call about suspicious financial transfers. The trail leads them across the stormy North Sea to Stavanger—once a struggling cannery town, now Norway's oil capital. Behind the façade of green technology lies a cover-up scandal of epic proportions. On the remote drilling rigs, a young technician discovers readings that don't match official protocols. When his cover is blown, the consequences are deadly. And in the depths beneath the platforms lurks something that could threaten the balance of the North Sea itself. Operating in the shadows is Detlev Klüver, a disgraced politician who has emerged from prison as a reformed environmentalist—a perfect mask for his most ambitious plan yet. Some secrets are buried in data. Others in conscience. For readers who love the scientific rigour of Michael Crichton and the epic scope of Frank Schätzing's The Swarm. A smart eco-thriller that tackles both sides of the oil industry debate without preaching—worryingly plausible, impossible to put down. The Nordic Protocol Series: Book 3
