The Cult of the All-Seeing Eye

The Cult of the All-Seeing Eye by Robert Keith Spencer examines the symbolism of the All-Seeing Eye and related imagery in American government, architecture, religious movements, Freemasonry, and occult traditions. The book focuses particularly on the United Nations Meditation Room, the Great Seal of the United States, the dollar bill, the Eye and pyramid, the Seal of Solomon, the Eye as a symbol of Osiris, and the symbolism of the sun and serpent. Spencer traces these symbols through Egyptian, Babylonian, Masonic, Theosophical, and other esoteric traditions, arguing that they reflect a continuing occult tradition. Later sections examine the Prayer Room in the U.S. Capitol and the proposed Temple of Understanding in Washington, presenting these projects as manifestations of an emerging international religious and spiritual movement. The work concludes with an examination of the Temple of Understanding and the idea of a "Universal Theocratic State," linking its discussion of interfaith religion, occult symbolism, international organizations, and world government.
