The Babel Sequence-The Second Eye

What if first contact began with a discovery buried beneath an alien world? For generations, the people of Neyra have believed that sight belongs to the single eye and truth can be understood from only one perspective. Then archaeologist Psy discovers that an ancient dome is not a dome at all. It is the exposed half of an immense sphere buried beneath the planet, and its walls contain the impossible image of beings with two eyes.Forty light-years away, Earth signal specialist Eli has been dreaming of a single luminous eye reaching for him across the darkness. When an unexplained transmission arrives from deep space, his dreams become humanity's first evidence that it is not alone. As Psy leads an expedition in search of the two-eyed civilization and Eli struggles to decipher a language built from geometry, rhythm, and consciousness, both uncover an ancient system capable of connecting distant worlds. But the technology once brought Neyra to the edge of destruction. It promised perfect understanding by removing every barrier between minds, nearly erasing individual identity in the process. Now the buried sphere on Neyra and a hidden structure beneath Earth are awakening together. To make contact, Psy and Eli must cross more than the distance between their worlds. They must discover whether two consciousnesses can truly meet without either surrendering what makes it distinct.Because the greatest danger may not be misunderstanding one another. It may be understanding one another completely. The Second Eye is Book One of The Babel Sequence, an epic science-fiction series exploring first contact, consciousness, identity, consent, love, and the unseen forces connecting worlds.
