La Derobee Du Monde/The Hiddenness Of The World

In The Hiddenness of the World, French poet Gerard Martin addresses humanity's longing for a rebirth of wonder in a world frighteningly commercial, technological, and environmentally destructive. Martin's almost mystical approach draws attention to minute details of the natural world as secret mirrors of the sacred. Bertrand Mathieu's translation gives Martin the vivaciousness he gave another French poet-Rimbaud!Gerard Martin has published poetry in France as well as numerous critical articles about Rimbaud and others.Bertrand Mathieu is the translator of the preeminent translation of Rimbaud, A Season in Hell & Illuminations (BOA Editions).
