Diego Rivera

Words that illustrate, illustrations that speak, these pages offer us moments in the history of art in the vision of a great creator. In addition to his exceptional gifts as a painter, Diego Rivera possessed a solid grounding in the humanities, which served as a basis for his vast intellectual reflections. Standing on the scaffolding, at work on some mural, in front of a canvas, or bent over a notebook, sketching, Rivera engaged in profound meditations on art and on the complex twists and turns of its evolution through history. He also reflected on the duties of the creator, whether to society or to the development of his own discipline.
