Incontri in Sicilia

Incontri in Sicilia. A Short Story in Simple Italian for Lower-Intermediate Learners (A2 CEFR) A journey to Sicily. A search for family roots. New people who make the journey worth taking. Fiona travels from America to Montalbano Elicona, a small hilltop village in Sicily, to trace her family’s history and obtain Italian citizenship. But finding documents is only part of her experience. As she gets to know the village and its people, new friendships—and the possibility of romance—give her more reasons to stay. Incontri in Sicilia is an Italian graded reader for adult learners at CEFR A2–B1. Written in clear, accessible Italian, it offers everyday conversations, useful expressions, and a glimpse of Sicilian life through Fiona’s experience. The book includes: • 16 short chapters • Italian–English vocabulary lists to support your reading • Chapter summaries in Italian • Natural dialogue and useful everyday expressions • Cultural notes about Sicily and local traditions • Accompanying Italian audio to practice listening and follow the story as you read Why learn through a story? A story brings together the grammar and vocabulary you’ve studied in class or in a textbook and brings them to life. As you follow Fiona, you’ll see how words fit together, meet familiar expressions in new situations, and gradually feel more comfortable reading in Italian.
