La Botanica

Cecelia is your typical eleven year old, in love with her mother and open to the magic the world she lives in - beautiful Colombian coastal town of the 1870’s. Yet the honeymoon ends quickly as her faith and sanity are tested by circumstances beyond her control. This story weaves the tale of a heroine who must overcome her own mind and the challenges of her family. What is real and what is fiction will need to be teased out and shaped into something unexpected for her time in history. Resting in the genre of magic realism and at the feet of the grand literary novels of South American writers such as Isabel Allende and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, you will not be disappointed with this second release by this author. Languages are in English with some Spanish in dialogue. Glossary is included at the end.
