Nicolas Floc'h In Other Words

Nicolas Floc'h: In Other Words is an extensive monograph on the work of French contemporary artist Nicolas Floc'h, covering approximately a decade of his artistic practice from 1995 to 2005. The publication follows the development of Floc'h's work across a wide range of media and artistic approaches. It includes projects involving minimal constructions made from tubes, photography, painting, installations, performance, portable art structures and film and video. Rather than presenting these works as isolated experiments, the book reveals the connections between them and the consistent, organic way of thinking that runs through Floc'h's practice. Particular attention is given to the evolution of his work over time, from the early project Productive Writing to later video works. The variety of forms and materials demonstrates his interest in the relationship between objects, spaces, images and the viewer's experience. The book combines extensive visual documentation with essays and texts that place Floc'h's work in an artistic and conceptual context. It therefore functions both as an overview of his first decade as an artist and as a deeper examination of the ideas and methods underlying his practice. Nicolas Floc'h: In Other Words is a substantial publication for readers interested in contemporary art, installation, photography, sculpture, performance and experimental artistic practices. The book is presented in French and English and is richly illustrated.
