In 2017, Karl Lansley's wife, Carli, passed away from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). She was aged just 36 and they had two children – Jess and Ethan, who were aged just 10 and 6 at the time. In 2018, the family established the Carli Lansley Foundation in her memory, a registered charity providing free ECG screenings to young people (aged 14-35) to help detect undiagnosed heart conditions. As of November 2025, the charity has raised in excess of £250,000, checked the hearts of over 3,500 young people and found over 150 that needed a further referral. In 2024, Karl undertook a 1000-mile 'pilgrimage' to honour the memory of Carli and spread her ashes at some of the most beautiful locations in South East of England.
