Gardening With Grasses

Ornamental grasses are among the most important plants used by garden designers. This book shows how to use them to transform a garden. Grasses lend an architectural quality to a garden; they provide texture, background interest and a year-round range of subtle colours. They are also highly versatile, hardy and reliable. Many are evergreen and some perform better in shade, particularly useful in awkward corners where other plants struggle. The distinctive appearance of grasses makes them invaluable in combinations with flowering annuals or textured perennials. A catalogue of over 150 varieties and cultivars gives details of the best ornamental grasses, sedges and bamboos for a wide range of garden situations.
