The Ballad Of The Whiskey Robber

Atitila Ambrus escaped late-eighties Romania for Hungary - but soon found that living on his wits wasn't getting him very far. Becoming goalie (and janitor) for a third-division ice hockey team brought no fortune and little glory: he was the least successful player in the country's least successful squad. His procession of moneymaking ruses fared little better, whether fur smuggling, gravedigging or roulette. Until he discovered robbery - which, luckily for him, was as cack-handedly investigated as it was conducted.
