Sword of the Kuki Samurai

The Japanese sword has long been surrounded by myth, admiration, and romantic imagery. Sword of the Kuki Samurai moves beyond legend to examine the sword as it existed within a living martial tradition shaped by discipline, strategy, responsibility, and direct experience.Written from the perspective of a lifelong practitioner, Bujinkan instructor, and founder of Florida Budo, this book draws from more than forty years of training and study within Japanese martial traditions, especially Kukishinden Ryu. Through historical discussion, technical analysis, and philosophical reflection, the manuscript explores the deeper principles behind swordsmanship, including posture, timing, distance, awareness, cutting mechanics, tactical reasoning, and mental composure under strain.More than a manual of technique, this work examines how martial training shapes character and judgment over time. The sword is presented not as a relic of the past, but as a demanding discipline that exposes weakness, refines awareness, and develops self-control through long-term practice.Combining martial history, practitioner insight, and reflections on warrior culture, Sword of the Kuki Samurai offers readers a grounded and experience-based look into the enduring spirit behind the blade.
