A DC Smith/Kings Lake Investigation- On Eden Street

A simple case on the quiet Eden Street takes an unexpected turn as the Kings Lake Central murder squad must come together to uncover the truth in this shocking new murder. The new Kings Lake Central murder squad is poised for a sleepy day at the office, spent on team-building exercises and reviewing cold cases, when the call comes in that the body of one of the city’s rough sleepers has been found in a shop doorway. At first, it seems like an open and shut case—he isn’t the first to die on the streets, and, unfortunately, he won’t be the last—but the team quickly learns that this story, is far from routine. As the investigation deepens, small secrets begin to surface and magnify, and DS Chris Waters makes a shocking discovery that links this case to a previous investigation. With budgetary concerns, interpersonal dramas, and mounting pressure placed on DCI Cara Freeman and Kings Lake’s first specialist team, can they learn to work together to solve the case before it’s too late?
