Dr. Rose's Shadow

The truth is harder to swallow than any fiction. When a young doctor is kidnapped in Syria and a multi-million-dollar humanitarian fund becomes frozen at a major German bank, everything is put at stake. For Daniel Hartwell, it was never about romance. She was the same age as his own children, and the instinct to help her was as natural as protecting his own flesh and blood. But behind the scenes, something entirely different was unfolding. Over the course of six years, a genuine desire to help spirals into a nightmare of false promises, chemical attacks, secret hospitals in Portsmouth, pyrolysis furnaces, and astronomical fees exceeding €400,000 paid to Commerzbank. This is the true, unflinching story of one of the most sophisticated advance-fee fraud schemes ever encountered, and of how a life's work was sacrificed, only to be reborn in the light.
