Ekuke

Ekuke A story of survival, cruelty, and the fight to be seen. On the streets of Apo Dutse, not every dog gets to be someone's best friend. Ekuke is a mixed-breed survivor, scraping by in the shadow of a place where dogs like him are seen as nothing more than meat — a grim reality that exists just out of sight for most people. Ekuke is a raw, unflinching work of fiction that follows one dog's fight for survival in a world that has stopped seeing him as a life worth protecting. Through Ekuke's eyes, readers are confronted with a form of animal cruelty rarely discussed openly — and asked to reckon with what it means to look away. This is more than a story about a dog. It's a story about compassion, complicity, and the courage it takes to see what others refuse to. For readers who care about animal welfare, social justice fiction, and stories that don't shy away from hard truths.
