Double Doll

Double Doll By: Sharleen Daugherty “Sharleen Daugherty writes about her journey from corporate executive to a specialist in Navajo weaving with an honest voice and an open heart. She tells her own story with humor and humility. Daugherty is a fine writer and a worthy guide for anyone interested in learning more about the Diné from the perspective of an astute and non-judgmental observer.” About the Author Sharleen Daugherty was eight years old when she received a ragdoll with a Navajo face on one end and an Anglo face on the other. This doll became a symbol of her journey into the Navajo world—the first step in the manifestations of a childhood prayer: Please God, turn me upside down and make me an Indian.
