Dog-Team Doctor: The Story of Dr. Romig

Imagine a man who answers the call of the wild not with a rifle or a gold pan, but with a medicine bag and an unshakeable sense of duty. Through raging Arctic storms and desperate nighttime surgeries performed far from any hospital, through encounters with Alaska Native peoples and the rugged settlers who carved existence from permafrost and shadow, the portrait that emerges is of a doctor who understood that medicine is, at its core, an act of love. The land itself becomes a character here, vast and indifferent and magnificent, pressing against every page with cold, electric urgency. Readers drawn to stories of extraordinary individuals who rise to meet extraordinary circumstances will find something rare and sustaining in these pages. Dog-Team…
