Akara Ogun, The Brave Hunter In The Forest of Daemons

With a malevolent witch as a mother and a hunter and medicine man as a father, Akara-Ogun was destined for an extraordinary life. After the tragic demise of both his parents, Akara-Ogun found himself alone and penniless. Determined to change his fate, he embarked on a thrilling journey to the legendary Forest of Daemons, where he encountered fascinating beings, amassed wealth, and discovered love. As fate would have it, the King called upon him and a band of courageous hunters to undertake a perilous quest to Mount Langbodo, on the edge of Heaven, for the betterment of their nation. Each hunter brought their unique skills to the mission, overcoming countless obstacles in their pursuit of enlightenment and achieving their ultimate goals. A potent mix of African animism and morality, this early classic Nigerian literature is a unique and imaginative fusion of African and European culture told in the oral tradition. Combining elements of magic and fantasy with poetic moral allegory, it explores the depths of human nature and offers profound insights on how we should conduct ourselves. Illustrated throughout with fine pen and ink drawings by artist and translator Edmund Olu Mabo, this book enriches the reading experience with its visual splendor.
