Hamonshū

In English, "Hamonshü" can be translated as either 'Ripple Collection' or "Wave Collection".This single enhanced volume contains the original three volume woodblock printed books from 1903. Wave motifs were used on a variety of art works including ceramics and metal work such as sword furniture and in particular Tsuba [sword-guards]. It is hoped students of Japanese artwork can find the visual inspiration for the many pieces that have incorporated the "wave" motif in its many and varied forms.
