The Winter Dyad

THE WINTER DYADTHE VERDICT OF ICEThe fever breaks. The pulse is still. The atoms halt their dancing track. In The Winter Dyad, Darryl Houston Smith offers a collection of unflinching emotional honesty and structural rigor. By binding the granite blocks of language with ice, Smith creates a "Theology of the Empty Mill"-a poetic landscape where the biological defect of human suffering meets the indifference of a silent universe.Featuring the prose-poem masterpiece "The Chrome Confessional of Eleanora Fagan," this volume strips the soul bare before the "Morning Star Rejected." It is a book for those who understand that to see the Infinite, one must first be willing to burn the eyes-or freeze the heart. The Winter that will never go away.
