I Am a 911 Dispatcher

A calm voice that helps start the response. 911 dispatchers answer emergency calls, gather important information, and help send the right emergency workers to the right place. Young readers step inside an emergency communications center to see a dispatcher ask for the caller's location, learn what happened, use maps and radios, send firefighters, police officers, or EMTs, give simple safety instructions, share updates with responders, and work with other call takers and dispatchers. A clear, age-appropriate introduction shows how listening, staying calm, asking good questions, communicating quickly, and working as a team can help during an emergency. Perfect for ages 3-7. Helping others starts with caring.
