Where The Petals Land, Platanos Grow

Where the Petals Land, Plántanos Grow is a collection of Afro-Caribbean poetry that uses the imagery of petals to explore womanhood, body image, and the journey toward self-acceptance, drawing on memories of dancing and growing into identity. Rooted in Dominican heritage, the poems transform petals into cultural symbols, such as the plátanos, revealing them as themes of resilience, nourishment, beauty, and belonging.
