Architecture Now! Museums

Star architects from Frank Gehry to Herzog & de Meuron have shaken up the formerly staid world of museum architecture, bringing more than a hint of bravura to new buildings or extensions. But the trend bringing together museums and contemporary architecture goes well beyond the stunning work of Renzo Piano or Tadao Ando. Many less well-known architects have also designed remarkable places to exhibit art and artifacts. As with the entire Architecture Now! series, this new title focuses on the very latest buildings from around the world, without regard to specific styles, but carefully selecting the best and newest in the world of museum design. Clearly, a whole new generation of exciting architects is coming to the fore. Here then are the up-and-coming creators of tomorrow's architecture, and the major talents challenging the limits of contemporary museum design.
