Study of Phb Production in an Organism Isolated from Activated Sludge

I have been fascinated with biology since my childhood. I was curious about the intricacies of different aspects of life. I always love to acquire knowledge in different fields of science other than restricting my knowledge in a specific field.Plastics have versatile qualities of strength, lightness, durability and resistance to degradation.Biodegradable plastics offer best solution to the environmental hazards posed by conventional plastics This fascination, informed my decision, to undertake my postgraduate research project in Microbiology. The research was to "Study of PHB production in an organism isolated from Activated Sludge."An alternative of wasting large amounts of biological materials from the wastewater industry, a large amount of organic acids can be used as raw materials for biopolymer productions (PHAs). Sludge environment will provide efficient PHA producing organisms, the nutrient limiting conditions will play an important role for the organisms to produce PHA.PHB is bacterial storage polyester, currently receiving much attention because of its biodegradable potential.
