Land of Szornyek 5 - Voro's Return

Not all monsters are what they seem. Not all humans either. After a long winter of uneasy peace in the Vault, Askari and her companions have finally healed, rested, and begun to uncover fragments of knowledge that could help turn the tide against the portals. But the thaw brings no comfort—because with the first melt of snow, Devor returns. Wearing Agi’s face, he taunts Askari with a cruel promise: Agi is still alive inside him, and only Askari can set her free. Rage drives her to strike, but stopping Devor isn’t just about vengeance anymore. It’s about uncovering truths she never imagined—about Agi, about the voro, and about her own place in a world far more complicated than she believed. Pushed into a new mission by the Lamplighters Society, Askari must travel farther than ever before, chasing answers that may lie with her long-lost father. But danger follows every step—Devor and his kind closing in, old alliances fracturing, and Polly’s instincts proving that not every truth can be trusted. If Askari fails, it won’t just be Agi’s life on the line. It will be the fragile hope of humanity’s future. This is the second edition.
