Pašmanske misterije 1 - Brainbox

The story is set in the present time and unfolds in Croatian Mediterranean island of Pašman and its surroundings. The main characters are six inseparable friends. Katarina and her boyfriend Šime are in their early twenties. Katarina studies fashion and clothing history, while Šime works in a construction company. Kruno and Melita are a married couple in their late thirties. Kruno is the owner of a construction company, and Melita is an IT security expert in a large retailer corporation. Bože is the owner of a mobile solar technology service and a tech guru. Sabine is a psychologist by profession but works in the bioengineering industry on the island. Both of them are also in late thirties, and only Sabine is not born islander. One late autumn day, Šime finds an old discarded device at the construction site. Neither he nor Bože has any idea what type of device it is, but Kruno seems to know something about it. With the help of Kruno's father, they find out that it was a device that was on the market about twenty years ago and was actually a marketing scam, so it was banned shortly afterward. However, using his technical knowledge, Bože discovers that the device contains a memory chip with something stored on it. When they manage to get hold of an old computer that can still communicate with the found device, they open the contents of the memory and find a series of photographs. At first glance, the photos don't make any sense, but with careful examination, they manage to reconstruct that they conceal a tragic event.
